Archie, I have been too busy to drop a line, but I did want you to know that the new website is working!  I have closed the first significant quote today that came via the contact form and this one project alone will generate enough profits to pay for the site development.  On top of that I have three other quotes out that are directly due to the web contact form as well as multiple phone leads received that referenced that they were calling due to the web. Needless to say, I am very pleased.  I was very happy when the site went live and looked so great, but in the end it comes down to reaching new customers.  And at this early stage, it is working! Who Am I?

Hello, I’m Achinta “Archie” Mitra, the owner of Do it Yourself Marketing Coach. I am also the founder of Tiecas, Inc., a Houston-based marketing communications company. Like many of you, I started my business from my bedroom. That was back in 1987 and launched my first Website in 1998 when I formed an interactive and web design subsidiary called AMA Interactive which focuses on Internet marketing, web development and interactive projects.

From that humble beginning, I have grown my small business into a successful marketing company that has survived the recession of 1991, the dot com bust of 2003 and is now weathering the current recession.

Another topic that I’m passionate about is Health and Wellness. I wanted to convert this interest into a profitable online venture. You can view the fruits of my labor at www.healthandwellnessnirvana.com.

I’m originally from India and came to the US in 1980. I have an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (B. Eng.) from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology – IIT, Bombay and a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) degree from Kent State University, Ohio.

I consider it a God given gift to be able to use both sides of my brain. I combine strategic left-brain thinking with compelling right-brain creativity to deliver results-oriented marketing solutions that give you a competitive edge.

Happily married for 21 years. Enjoy quiet time with my wife, walking, movies, music (anything other than rap), traveling, photography and trying different ethnic foods. We live in Houston, Texas and have grown to love the people, culture and the southern hospitality, including the hot and humid summers here.
